Course Overview

The Investment Management course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles, practices, and strategies of managing investments. This course covers a wide array of investment vehicles, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and alternative investments, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex world of financial markets. Through a combination of theoretical concepts and practical applications, students will learn how to construct and manage investment portfolios aimed at achieving specific financial objectives.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the fundamental principles of investment management and the role of financial markets
  • Analyze various types of investment vehicles and their risk-return profiles

To obtain the CAPS credential, candidates must complete the following within 6 months of declaring candidacy:

  • Minimum of 24 months of experience as a multi-site supervisor OR 24 months of experience as an apartment manager plus CAM
  • Successful completion of all CAPS courses (totaling 10 hours)
  • Meet all examination standards

Note: This is an individual course module for the CAPS credential. See CAPS Online for certification requirements. The 6-month credential candidacy period begins on the purchase date of a student's first CAPS module. Once all 5 CAPS modules are successfully completed, students should send their Visto transcripts to education@naahq.org.
