Course Description

It is not uncommon for good people with good intentions to get into trouble for discrimination. Disparate impact is when a policy or procedure has a discriminatory effect even though it was not intended to discriminate. With some training and vigilance, you can help prevent even the subtlest forms of discrimination. This series consists of three short courses. The first provides an introduction to the topic, then you’ll look closely at two areas in which HUD has provided guidance on avoiding disparate impact: applying the Violence Against Women act and locial nuissance ordinances.
